Websites most often provide a small icon that is displayed with the text that is displayed in the tab header. Many of my bookmark toolbar items have lost the icon image for common sites like Google, Yahoo and just recently Facebook. The problem is exacerbated with the pinning of App Tabs in 5.0. Is this a setting thing or maybe a conflict with one of my add-ons?

In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server.
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure? on the left end of the location bar.

You can use this extension to get a padlock on the location bar.

I'm sorry, but I think I may not have been clear about my problem. The icon I am referring to is actually before the left hand edge of the Site Identity Button before the URL. It is the icon that appears in pinned app in V5.0, such as the lower case "f" in a blue background for Facebook. This is a screenshot illustrating the problem.

I just learned that the icon I am referring to is called a "favicon". I found an addon extension that allows me to "reset" the favicon and it works in all but a few instances. This item can be closed for me but you might want to investigate how the favicons disappeared in the first place. They didn't all disappear, nor did it happen all at once. One occured within the last 24 hours (V5.0) and some disappeared a long time ago (maybe when I was beta testing V4.0?). Thanks for your help!
