Proxy settings remains on manual, no matter how many times I change it. When I open a new Firefox window it says unable to connect to proxy. I do not use a proxy and have to disable the proxy settings each time I start Firefox.

I do not use a proxy server for my internet connection. Each time I open a new Firefox window it says "unable to connect to proxy server." At this point I go into options and change my connection settings to "no proxy." It works for that session but if closed I have to change the settings again. This does not happen when I use other browsers. This problem started recently and I have not changed my anti virus, internet settings or anything else. bold text

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
