All addon icons are missing from the customize window
I am using FF 3.6.18 on XP, Vista, and Win7. Since FF updated itself to 3.6.18, I'm missing all kinds of addon icons. Needless to say, most addons can't work unless the icon there to click. When I went to the [toolbar customize] window to drag the icons back out to the menu/tool/status bars, I find that ALL of my addon icons missing. The default FF icons are there, but all of the addon icons are missing. I have seen lots of posts from people with the same problem running FF4, but it is not a problem only with version 4. Most of the replies given have advised going to the customize window and dragging the icons back out - obviously written by people who weren't reading the question very carefully. Others recommend clicking the [restore default icons] button. They haven't read the question very carefully either. I have this problem on all my PCs, those running XP, Vista, and 7. Yes, I have already run virus and spyware checkers, and that didn't help any of my PCs. Reinstalling the addons doesn't help either. Since the problem is on all my PCs of various OSs, and upgrading to FF4 only seems to make things worse, it seems like a FF bug. Most of my friends who use Firefox have the same problem. Is it a bug, or is it fixable? Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

After, with great difficulty, eliminating the Conduit engine from my system, I tried a half dozen other things, but ultimately gave up ever getting it fixed without wiping my hard disk clean. However, The latest Firefox upgrade ( 3.6.24) fixed the problem! on all my computers! Don't know what you folks at Mozilla did, but thank you, thank you, thank you. No idea what caused the problem, or what fixed it, but this is one happy camper now.

Sorry, I haven't seen enough reports about a problem like that to even consider it to be a Bug in Firefox, especially since you say it is happening with 3.6.x and 4.0 versions. The few support threads that I have seen, have been resolved when the user discovered which add-on they had installed was causing the disappearance of the add-on buttons in the Palette.
With a little bit of troubleshooting, you 'll probably discover that one specific extension, or a combination of extensions is causing that to happen.

If you do think it is a Bug in Firefox, report it as such.

I've not heard of this sort of problem but you certainly do have problems that might ultimately be the cause.
You have the Conduit engine which is a major cause of problems. I've seen it described by a moderator on another forum as "toxic". I would also be surprised if the Ashampoo toolbar isn't causing you problems.
You should Google these two for information and advice.
the-edmeister's troubleshooting advice will weed out any other culprits.

'I have same problem today. I install add-ons and can see them on my extensions page. BUT they do NOT appear in my Customization Window. How do I put them on a toolbar such as Add-On Toolbar???' I have latest Firefox update, BTW.
