FF 7.0 is affecting PC memory

FF 7.0 appears to be sucking up memory like a Hoover. I am running Win XP on a 32bit Dell laptop (Centrino). I have started noticing that when you open multiple tabs and then close them, FF does not "give back" the memory it used. It is not unusual for FF to be pulling down over 700k memory by mid-day.

I find myself having to close FF about twice a day to reclaim performance. On a couple of occassions, when I closed FF, it kept right on taking up memory and CPU time for up to about 5 minutes after I closed it.

Please address immediately! This is a work machine and they won't allow me to upgrade hardware...not that I should have to.

Well shiver me timbers...8.0 seems to be addressing the memory suck. I just got upgraded yesterday and have not had an issue with memory. I have not had to shut FF down to recapture memory. This is looking good so far.
