Download window no longer saves a list but clears on finishing the file download
Prior to a recent upgrade of Firefox, the Download window stored and retained a list of each file downloaded (newest at the top) and could only be cleared manually by clicking on the 'clear' button bottom left. Now the window still opens when a file starts downloading but as soon as the download is complete the window clears. It is then impossible to click on the download to find where the file has been saved. I have not knowingly changed anything but would appreciate advice on how I can restore the previous setting.

- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > "Remember download history"
- Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
- Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

Go to about:config
Search for browser.download.manager.closeWhenDone
Make sure it's boolean value is false. If it's true then double click it to make it false.
I found the line 'browser.download.manager.CloseWhenDone' and the boolean value shows 'in other applications' as false so I haven't changed it. Still the same problem of the download window clearing after each file download finishes. It does say that in Thunderbird (whatever that is) the boolean value is true.
Thanks for your response
