You just need to manually end the firefox processes.

1. Open windows task-manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)

2. Select the "Processes Tab"

3. Select the entry for firefox.exe and click End Process. Click Yes in the "Task Manager Warning" dialog that appears.

4. Exit windows taskmanager & start firefox normally.
