Whenever I scroll over a drop down box, the box doesn't stay open long enough for me to make a choice. For instance when I click on the orange Fire Fox tab, it takes several tries for me to get my cursor over the item I want to select. This happens on websites that have drop down boxes as well.

Please see if this goes away when menu animation is turned off / changed in Windows.

how do i turn off the menu animation in Windows?

In the Start menu right-click Computer > Properties > Advanced system settings > Advanced > Settings (under performance) > Visual Effects. You can disable all or try toggling a few to see if the issue goes away.

Is this a Firefox only issue? Please also check if there's a userChrome.css file in the chrome folder inside the profile folder - In Firefox click Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information > Open Containing Folder and rename the userChrome.css, if present.

This did not fix the issue. When I did what you suggested, Google stopped working. I have discovered this is not only a Fire Fox issue. My accounting software program has the same problem.Ran a virus scan with nothing being detected.

Most likely, this is not a virus issue. Troubleshooting Aero or updating the video drivers may help (Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting > All Categories >Aero and Windows Update > Optional updates.. I think it would be helpful if you could post the issue in a Windows 7 OS forum.
