Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Are you using any code in userChrome.css that might cause it?

The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

This may be caused by one of your extensions: can you provide a list? (Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Info and copy the extensions section over.
