Menu in Firefox does not expand, instead a little gray dot appears in top right corner
In a number of drop down menus within firefox, when I select an option in the menu it should expand to the right, showing more options to choose from. Instead, the menu does not expand and a little grey dot appears on the top right of the menu option
E.g. I click Tools, highlight Web Developer and expect the menu to expand. Instead a little gray dot in the top right of the "Web Developer" option appears and I cannot select anything from the menu.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Thanks for the reply!
Unfortunately, unchecking the hardware acceleration did not solve the problem. (I tried before and after restarting firefox )
I added a screenshot, see the little grey dot top right?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hmm... that's a bit of an issue: the only reliable way I have of reproducing this error is on a menu item that is only available with the last pass extension. I know I saw the exact same thing on a "normal" firefox menu but unfortunately I can't remember which one.
In short, when starting in safe mode I can't reproduce the error since i don't know a menu item that has the issue. I was actually hoping this was something more people had ran into even though I couldn't find anything by searching.
The only thing I can add is that this seems to only happen when there are quite a large number of emnu items supposed to appear after expanding the menu, i.e. more than 5 or 10.

Then enable only one extension that gives the problem and disable all the others and start in normal mode.
Disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
- Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
