How can I setup Firefox + Persona to the way I want?

more options

I'm trying to setup my Firefox and Persona to look the way I want. When I go to "Customize" the way it looks while the menu is up is how I want it to look, but no matter how I change it I can't get it to look that way. The problem is I can't put anything between where the Menu Bar would be and where the Navigation Bar is, which while it is in "Customize" it appears that way.

How it looks while in "Customize"

then when I try to add the "Menu Bar" to duplicate that look, it still ends up looking like this: How it looks with the Menu Bar

Why can't it actually appear like it does while in the "Customize" menu?

The orange Firefox button is displayed when the menu bar is hidden.
You can hide the Menu Bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu of a toolbar.

  • Tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to bring up the menu bar temporarily.
  • Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or empty space on the tab bar to select which toolbars to show or hide

That doesn't help me do what I want. I know how to customize the toolbars, the problem is I can't get it to look the way it looks when I go into the "Customize" menu, like I showed in the pictures.

While in "Customize", the orange Firefox button is there at the top and the Persona goes to the top as well. Underneath the button is the menu bar but it is grayed out, but when it is actually active it would show up exactly where it shows. The issue is when the menu bar is active there is a black bar at the top of the browser which makes the Persona not fully show at the top or it starts further down anyway in place of where the Orange button would be.

You can add blank toolbars to the "bottom" of the toolbar section to extend the Persona downward, but you can't add toolbars to the "top" of the toolbar section to put empty space between the Menu Bar and Navigation Bar, which is what I need and how it appears due to the layout shown in the pics.

Please refer to the pictures to see what I am talking about. I don't think there is anyway to FIX this, as it is more of an issue with how Firefox lets you setup the menu bars or lack thereof.

You can't have the Firefox menu button and the Menu visible at the same time.
I do not know where that black area on the Bookmarks Toolbar is coming from, unless you did that to hide some bookmarks for the screenshot.

I meant the one at the top, the "Title Bar", where it says Mozilla Firefox Start Page. With no "Menu Bar" and the Firefox button, the Persona extends all the way to the top of the browser. With the "Menu Bar" on, it starts below the "Title Bar" where the "Menu Bar" is. Comparing to the two, you can see in the one with the Firefox button where the Menu Bar would be anyway, it creates more space for the Persona so that the Navigation Bar and Search Bar aren't covering up the face.

The layout is practically identical to how it "appears", but because of the way it decides to display the Persona between the two it causes it to not look the way I want even though it displays it like that.

They should allow you to have the Menu Bar up at the same time as the Firefox button, OR at least allow you to add toolbars (space) at the top between the Firefox Button / Menu Bar and the Navigation Bar.

It's just annoying that I can't get it to look the way I want properly when I see it displayed that way right there in the menus.

Sorry that it seems "annoying" to you, but it works the way it is designed to work. It has been like that since Firefox 4.0 was released in March 2011. To get the Titlebar to not show and the Persona to go to the top of the browser window - hide the Menubar. If you prefer to use the Menubar instead of using the Firefox button, you can hit the Alt to have it temporarily appear when it is hidden.
