I will randomly open my homepage, www.google.com, and the "google" is not there. Just a small black word google. Right clicking to view image gets this error, "Firefox can't find the file at http://www.google.com/images/srpr/logo4w.png". Restarting machine will fix. Have cycled through all plugins and add-ons, nothing there is culprit. Running in firefox safe mode gives no fix. Sometimes, image rich websites do not display correctly as well, i.e. Ebay. Please help!!!

The best would be to download the latest version and have a fresh install. You can Get Firefox Here

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

All of those options have been previously attempted. Failed to mention I have cleared cache and cookies.

I solved the problem after several months of trouble: In firefox options/advanced/connection settings, use system proxy settings was checked. We have no proxy requirements so I checked use no proxy. Everything works great now.
