"remember me" login option is not working with odesk.com

HI, Just found out that with firefox 22.0/firefox 13.0+ (I've tested in those versions) the option "Remember me next time" in oDesk login page doesn't work properly. In FF 22.0 I can login max 2 times without providing password if I checked "Remember Me" option first time. Then I need to enter my username and password again. I'm on Win7 pc, I checked the issues with other sites but other sites work perfectly, for example I checked with gmail.com I can login without providing passwords and there's no limit of max 2 times. There's no problem with privacy option in my pc/FF browser as it works with gmail.com properly. Also I tested the site with default settings of Firefox but not works. And the same oDesk.com login page "remember me" option works fine in Safari browser in my win 7 pc, I can login many times without provided passwords. I've tested the page in another pc with firefox 13.0 which is running win xp sp3, the "remember me" option works properly in that pc. I'm not sure whether the problem is in Firefox browser or in the oDesk.com site as the login page's "remember me" option works fine in Safari browser in win 7 pc, on the contrary gmail or other site "remember me" option works fine in Firefox in same win 7 pc. Any help? Also I have noticed that in FF 23.0 version the "load images automatically" & "Enable Javascript" options are missing under the Options > Content menu. Is there any way to get them back by changing any thing as I want to use them or how can I prevent some sites to load the images/javascript? Thanks, Kcoitk

Can you note the details for the site's cookies? In particular, make sure the expiration is at least a few days in the future.

While viewing a page on the site, you can check the cookies using either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In case there is some kind of cookie conflict or inconsistency, you might want to just remove all of the site's cookies in that dialog and log in again.

Although the "Load Images Automatically" and "Enable JavaScript" checkboxes are gone, these settings are still available either through the about:config preferences editor or one of many add-ons (some venerable, some new).

Images: permissions.default.image

  • 1 (auto-load on)
  • 2 (auto-load off)

JavaScript: javascript.enabled

  • true
  • false
