Every time I close FF my add ons reset. When I open a new session multiple tabs open up thanking me for downloading the add ons. Like when I had just downloaded them. Also it erases all my themes, takes me to the new page trying to give me tour of the new FF, the most visited bookmark tool keeps showing up each and every time no matter how often I delete it. I tried in safe mode but since the problem is with the add ons and themes there is no way to tell the difference. The add ons are still there but the options have been reset on all of them. The themes however are gone. I have to keep downloading them. It has been happening for 2 days now.

Ok now multiple sites have told me they cannot run on IE or I am using an outdated version. UH I don't us IE. I am using FF and being told this. I tried to download a theme from my favorites and was told I needed to download FF to use them. WHAT???

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Okay I don't really understand what any of that means. I have reset FF to original settings twice now. Then redownloaded my apps and restarted it each time and it was working fine. Then I went to options and changed my homepage and it started the same crap again.

Hi sophiemarie,

Are you selecting the current pages as your homepage? When you restart Firefox after downloading add ons there are windows that will open in new tabs that tell you a little more about the add ons. I am wondering if these are still open when you set your homepage.

Please set your homepage once more and if the settings are not staying the links that cor-el has provided troubleshoot preferences in Firefox that do not save.

If you have any questions about this or if this helps please post back! We are happy to help.

No I had no other tabs open when setting my homepage. It did fine for days but today it again reset some but not all add ons. It had a pop up about browser script not working and wanted to stop script running when I opened a window.

I recently uninstalled FF completely and re downloaded it. I added my add ons again and it worked perfectly for 2 days. Today it stated doing that thing again. It is not one ad on either. If it comes with a thank you page which opens in a separate tab when downloaded it resets. I hate IE and am not fond of Chrome but I use FF for the add ons and this is getting to be to much of a hassle. It is not worth it.
