I've been migrating my files from an old XP machine to one with Win 7. I was successful in migrating Firefox settings for my wife's profile but haven't been able to get my profile set up properly. I can see my Profile and there are multiple default files in the Profile folder. Which one does Firefox use? How can I tell if one is missing something that is not allowing FF to restore my browser settings?

Open the profiles.ini file (in a text program like Notepad or Wordpad) which is in the same folder as the \Profiles\ folder and look for Default=1 underneath Path=profiles/and the profile name. That is the last used Profile, when you have more than one Profile in the \Profiles folder.

Note that you can use the Profile Manager to register a copied profile by clicking the "Choose Folder" button and select this profile.
Firefox will recognize and use the profile in the specified location.
