Would like an easily downloadable stationary set.
I was accustomed to Windows Mail previously and could make stationary and music or comments on the emails with ease. I find I can't do this with Thunderbird. Is their a free site that I can at least download some stationary or an easy way to make my on for the Thunderbird mail program. I like for my emails to be unique and a soft background pic, whether graphic or real, suited nicely. Thanks for any help you can give. I tried unsuccessfully to download the few from Thunderbird but they would not attach to their email program. I used search engines to find mostly instructions that are too difficult in how to set up my own HTML. I need a more simple way of doing this.

Thank you for the help. I tried this and it did not work. I followed the install instructions both without unzipping the add-on and when that didn't work I unzipped it and tried again. Still not working. I really want to make my own stationery but it appears only the old Windows Mail would let me do that with ease. Thank you for the help. Surely someone will come up with a program to make this an easy process. If it was easy in the XP and Vista days, it should be even easier to do with an upgraded Windows 8.1. Again, thanks for the help. I've read all the previous help answers for this situation and it seems no one has the answer I want to hear. I do appreciate the response from you and hope the creators of this email program will work on a "solve" for this. Why remove features that users enjoy? Makes no sense to me, but then again, I'm not a computer programmer.
I tried this and it did not work
So you downloaded the .xpi file to your desktop. then in Thunderbird 'Tools' > 'addons' to open 'Addons Manager' click on the wheel gear cog icon and select 'Install Addon from file' select the downloaded .xpi file and click on 'open'
wait whilst it imports the file Then you may be asked to restart Thunderbird.
What did not work? Are you saying that the Addon file did not import? Is it listed in your addons? did you restart thunderbird?
As for Why remove features that users enjoy? It is not removed, anyone can create their own email. Add a background - 'Format' > 'page colours and background' Add a Table to organise layout. 'Insert' > 'Table' etc and save as a Template for reuse.
The addons adds extra features and options which some people find useful.
I did those things and got some garbled letters when I'd hit the "Other Stationary" button. I'll try it again. Thanks
