Is it Firefox that is asking, or Flash Video Downloader ?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

There are several add-ons that can sort your downloads into different folders depending on file type, downloaded from, and other choices.

It's Firefox, as far as I can tell; the selection dialog is the standard Windows dialog window.

Also, thank you; I'll keep addons in mind for patching this issue. However, I already have plenty of addons, and a not-too-modern computer, so if I can fix this issue without addons, I would prefer to.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

InlineDisposition 2 {web link} InlineDisposition 2 changes the disposition of Content-Disposition response headers from attachment to inline.

I tried what you said (you know you can do exactly what you mentioned under the regular Options menu, right?), but it still happened.

I tried right-clicking > Save Image As on an image on each of 15 different websites (URLs below), and for 2 out of those 15 I also tried doing Save Page As. Every single time a Windows dialog box asking me where to download it popped up.

Sometimes a web site does not label a file being downloaded to the browser. This add-on is suppose to fix the issue.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

And what do you mean safe mode with networking? I know how to put Firefox into safe mode ("restart with addons disabled"), but with networking? I don't even know what networking is in this context.

In most computers, there are several type of Safe Mode. The primary ones used most are;

• 1 Safe Mode: Only programs that came with the computer are started. No other programs will be started unless the user starts them.
• 2 Safe Mode with Networking: Same as above but the network drivers (internet) will also be running.

This is a way to test if one of the other programs on the computer is causing the issue.

Hardware Acceleration is a way for Firefox to run better. But so many users have issues with it, one of the first steps is to turn it off.

First off, I'm pretty sure internet connectivity is disabled when in safe mode.

And second, I thought you were saying to try the links with FIREFOX in safe mode.

Placing the Computer in Safe Mode does the same but for the computer.

Oh. Okay. Well two things:

1. Unfortunately, I might've f**ed up my computer so it no longer can boot up, so it hardly matters anymore. Haha. xD

2. Before my computer tanked, Firefox was actually no longer prompting me, which is weird. This happened before, and it seems almost like it takes a delay or something for the browser to get the message not to prompt. Thoughts? Lol.

2. Is it just me, or does the font weight of text on this forum, both during after typing it, seem a bit...how do I say this?...screwy? It's pretty weird. Capital letters have greater weight than lowercase letters, so much so that they look emboldened even when they're not.

3. Maybe it's something unique to HTML—I don't know—but why is it when I type a &ltp&gt (paragraph) tag between an &lthr&gt (horizontal rule) tag (see example below), it doesn't actually add in a line between the horizontal rule and the text? I'm pretty sure it should. Am I misunderstanding something about HTML?

Already tried that. Nothing worked. For some reason, the winload.exe file is corrupt, so I'm just going to have to reinstall Windows.

The prompt we've been talking about, silly. :P How it was prompting me to designate where to save a file, as in the window that pops up showing all your directories and stuff. It wasn't doing that anymore. It's like it requires a delay or something; after all, that happened in the past to me, too, not just just now.

No, what I want to do is have a horizontal rule (that'd be &lthr&gt) followed by an entire line that's blank followed by the new paragraph starting on the line following that.

I think I figured it out, though. If I understand correctly, the &ltp&gt tag, although a Paragraph tag, is not used to designate a space in between the two paragraphs, but merely a new line. I suppose there may be more elegant ways of doing it, but until I know that info, using &ltnbsp&gt will have to do, i guess... :/

Also, what exactly does the &ltbr&gt tag do? Is it similar to the &ltnbsp&gt ("non-breaking space") tag?

I can't help thinking this is by design: the word "As" in "Save As" generally implies having the option to rename the file or save it to a different location. What it sounds like you are looking for is a Save Image or Save Page command that simply uses the actual file name. I'm not aware of any built-in feature like that...

Ah. Okay, well, that makes sense, yeah, but then why does it usually work even if I click Save Image As, but only after a significant delay (~1wk)?

This doesn't really help. In fact, I have no idea how that even is relevant; I can download things just fine; it's just that if I save an image, there's a pretty significant delay (~1wk) between the time I change to "Save to a default folder" and the time it actually starts doing that.
