Had to forward several older emails from Outlook- how do I retain the original document date so it will show correctly in the folder?

A forwarded email shows as the date actually forwarded - I need the email to retain the original date it was sent, so it will properly "fit" into chronological order in the folder. Maybe this is covered somewhere and I just didn't see it..??

I don't think you can forward the message so that it's received with a date earlier than the date on which it's received: computers dislike illogical stuff like that. Your best bet I guess is to edit the 'date received' afterwards so that the message displays as you want it in the chronological sequence of the folder. There's a query here from someone else who wanted to do that, you'll see that an add-on was recommended: http://askubuntu.com/questions/258715/how-can-i-set-the-date-time-of-a-mail-in-thunderbird
