Today I updated to Thunderbird 45.0. Prior to today, when I was composing an email, and I attached a file/photo etc., I used to be able to double click and open the attachment to do a final check before sending. I can no longer to that. I tried double clicking, also right-click/open, and neither method works. I must be able to review attachments prior to sending. It's not terribly professional when you send the wrong information by accident.

Funnily enough I have been doing exactly that today, in Windows 7/TB45 with PDF attachments and it has worked just fine. I've just repeated the same test here on my Linux machine with LMDE/TB45 and a jpeg image and that worked fine too, after my answering the question about which app to use to view the pictures.

Mine seems to still work. Yours doesn't. So what is the difference between our systems?

I turned off my Bit-Defender anti-spam, and it didn't solve the problem. I uninstalled TB45, and reinstalled, and same problem. It worked flawlessly before the update.
