I am transferring form outlook to thunderbird. In outlook one can synchronize the adressbook and agenda by means of icloud. I found a "solution" for thunderbird to achieve the same, so that these files synchronise with my iphones and iPad. I got the icloud mailadress working perfectly with an app specific password obtained from icloud. For synchronisation I have t right-click the account and than click 'further functions' and choose IMAP-ordner abonnieren. If i try to do this, i get a list with maps from my icloud account, but the possibility to synchronize do noyt exist.

How can I solve this problem?

I didn't think this was possible, but here is someone reporting how they linked Lightning to an iCloud calendar.

I note that the OP was only able to get read-only access.

Lightning has support for several protocols built into it but I don't know of any similar support for address books. CardDav and vCard are two standards that seem to be most successful for contact data exchange, but you'll need to see if these are supported by iCloud, and whether or not you can get any of the available add-ons for Thunderbird/Lightning to work with iCloud.
