How do I get an add on to appear in the tool bar or menu bar? Specifically a translation tool. I have added the tool as an add on but cant work out how to actually use it.

I found lots of help on how to add things to the toolbar but only found a way to put a link to the addons page to the tool bar - I can find no information on how to add a specific add on to the toolbar or menubar or what ever it is called - I just want to be able to see it and use it.

When Im in a webpage which is in a foreign language, I want a link to click which will translate the page - or even open up a link where I can cut and paste the text to have it translated - Anything - I just need to find out how to get it up there!

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but; some icons are locked in place.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.

Note: about:customizing is no longer present in Firefox 47+ releases.

  • Press Alt or F10 to bring up the toolbar.
Then View > Toolbars > Customize.
  • Right-click on a blank spot in the toolbar and
    select Customize.

What extension(s) are you using that might add an toolbar button?
