I am using AWS SES SMTP Relay in thunderbird to send outgoing emails but thunderbird is taking too much time in sending emails. How to increase sending speed?

My AWS SES Max Send Rate is 20 emails/second and thundersbird is sending 1 email in more than 6 seconds. Further there is no attachment in the email and moreover email size is less than 50 KB. Screenshot attached.

Is there any security program scanning outgoing mail? Try running Windows in safe mode with networking and see if sending through TB is affected.

Thank You for the reply.

I tried sending in Safe mode with networking but it didn't work either. :(

Any other ideas of how we can resolve this issue?

When the question of sending rates comes up, it usually depends on the limits imposed by the mail provider, but in this case where AWS allows 20/sec., there may be other factors such as the number of connections imposed by your internet provider or even the upstream bandwidth.

Since you appear to be using the Mail Merge add-on, it's possible it has some limitation. It might be worth testing this by saving a set of messages in the Outbox (Send Later instead of Send), either individually or through a regular mailing list, and then looking at the send rate when you File/Send Unsent Messages, i.e. upload the Outbox.
