The "Mobile Bookmarks" part of my bookmarks, doesn't show in the drop down menu's. Only in "Sidebar" and "Library". This makes it a TRUE HASSLE to try to access "Mobile Bookmarks" in my day to day browsing. The menubar's "Bookmarks" menu item, and the "Bookmark" dropdown menu on the customize toolbar has the same problem.
This is best described by my SCREENSHOT IMAGE (see attachment).
PS:* Its a newly installed browser, (Firefox 52.8.1 ESR) with a brand new and empty user-profile, and this is connected to a phone (via Firefox Sync) that also had a fresh install of the Android Firefox App (ver 60.something). Also the SYNC firefox account was deleted, and then recreated, to EMPTY it of all previous activity. So, everything is freshly installed (on my Android phone, and on my Windows XP Pro machine. (The machine is updated with drivers, and windows updates as of Jun2018)
So why this very strange bug? The menu showing at 50% of where it should show up...?
Anyone with any idea's ??
PS: I did delete the "standard links" that FF puts into the "mobile bookmarks" favorite-folder, on my PC, and as I deleted the last ff-link in that folder, the folder itself was removed (deleted) from the Bookmarks menu, so I went over to my phone, and added a few pages to bookmarks there, waited for sync, and then the "Mobile Bookmarks" showed up again on the PC. But after this, the 50% display (no dropdown bookmarks menu's) problem started..
How can I possible fix this (without reinstalling/deleting sync/recreate sync/and so on* (*the process mentioned above). And also without losing all the newly added bookmarks (takes a lot of time to manually add 50+ bookmarks to FF).
Anyone?

I have also tested to enter "about:config" and created a new BOOLEAN there called "browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks" and set that to TRUE. Restarted FF and nothing... no more showing "Mobile Bookmarks" in any the dropdown menu's, than before that change...
(this idea came from this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1198155 )
I've also tested:
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database
(bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.
By the use of "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information"
Easier found by going to "about:support" in FF.
The integrity check run without problems, and made no changes, as everything was "perfect", hehe... only not truly perfect...
(As mentioned in an answer in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1204163 )
So... any suggestions? Anything?
This tip (from another post) was partly usefull:
" You can use this chrome URL to open the Library window in a tab:
chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul "
And then I added that to the "Bookmark Toolbar" so I now have a "button" (link) to click, that opens the "Library" where I can indeed see the "Mobile Bookmarks" - but as I said, this is only half way there... (And not REALLY what I am looking for)
( the idea came from this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1196638 )
What is the value of browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks on the about:config page?
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Thanks for answering!
I have already kinda answered that question in a post above, and to answer it again; there was no BOOLEAN by the name of "browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks", so I created a new BOOLEAN with that name (browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks), and set its value to "TRUE", then I restarted the browser... And no luck... Everything stays the same way...
(PS: I did also do a SEARCH for browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks in the ABOUT:CONFIG page.)

Firefox should automatically create this the browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks pref and set it to true if you sync to a mobile device, otherwise the mobile folder will be hidden. In your case this doesn't seem to be working properly if you see mobile bookmarks in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but not in the menu drop-down list.
Based on your description of the sync-feature, I decided to remove the sync-account from my phone (using: https://accounts.firefox.com).
I deleted the phone from the sync-account, and then I manually synced the PC to the sync-servers. After that I logged into FF-sync on the phone again (in the Firefox Browser app), and let that auto-sync as it established everything again. Then I manually synced the phone as well (FFapp/settings/syncmenu).
Even after all this, the "Mobile Bookmarks" menu's are hidden. Both from the Firefox Menu Bar, and from the toolbar Bookmarks Menu.
So... I don't know... what else could I try?
I don't know how mobile bookmarks work in Firefox 52, so it is possible that what you see is standard in 52 ESR. A lot of work about showing mobile bookmarks is done in more recent Firefox versions (57 and 58 and later).
Initial work is finished in Firefox 52. but I can't remember if this version supports mobile bookmarks in menus.
- Bug 1302901 - Create a mobile bookmarks root [52]
You can right-click in a menu drop-down list to see if you have "Show mobile bookmarks" in case this folder is hidden.
I have to use Firefox 52.x.x ESR for now, as this is an Window XP Pro machine, and thus, does not support any of the new browsers (above ver 52).
I have tried this now in v52.0, v52.5, v52.7, v52.8 (All ESR Versions).
I also made a NEW PROFILE at the PC Firefox. And deleted DATA and uninstalled FireFox on the mobile. Then reinstalled (to create a new empty profile). Final step was to sync the two NEW INSTALLS with NEW PROFILES, and still, it does sync everything, but it does NOT show the Mobile Bookmarks folder, this is so incredible lame...
As the newest 52.8.1 ESR should get the same BUG-FIXES as the versions for Win Vista/7/8/10 gets...
So cumbersome to use this sync-feature, when it (and the menu's) does what they want, instead of what the USER WANTS...
Any more suggestions as to what can be tested?
Is there a place where one can post a "bug" to the developers of FireFox 52.x.x ESR ?? Where they will see it, and consider it, and perhaps even fix it ??
Firefox 52 ESR only receives security updates and Firefox 52 ESR is almost EOL (52.9.0 will be the last), so it isn't very likely that devs will spend time to fix an issue in that release that has been fixed in newer releases. If it was easy and important enough then they would have back ported the code to 52 ESR. You will have to use the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or sidebar if others aren't working.
I also tried the userChrome.css method. (Make a folder called chrome in your FF-active-profile-folder, and place the userChrome.css in that folder. Change FF menu/design/elements by editing the CSS within the userChrome.css)
CODE IN MY userChrome.css FILE:
/* Show Items on Bookmark Menu Button drop-down */ #BMB_viewBookmarksSidebar, #BMB_bookmarksShowAllTop, #BMB_bookmarksShowAllTop + menuseparator, #BMB_recentBookmarks, #BMB_recentBookmarks + menuseparator, #BMB_bookmarksToolbar, #BMB_unsortedBookmarks, #BMB_mobileBookmarks, #BMB_mobileBookmarks + menuseparator { display: block !important; }
So, If I change the last line in that code to:
#BMB_mobileBookmarks + menuseparator { display: none !important; }
Then it will hide ALL but TWO of the elements on the Bookmarks Menu drop-down-list...
Unfortunately it did not display the Mobile Bookmarks part of the menu, just all the other standard elements... Any idea if this userChrome.css could be used differently to create the change i am seeking in FF 52.x.x ESR ???
