Cannot remove master password
I can't remove my master password from my Firefox profile. The pop-up shows up asking for my password, but the remove button does nothing. I can't change my master password from it's current setting. A pop up comes up saying "Cannot change master password".
I've tried refreshing Firefox. I've tried copying login.json key4.db to a new profile. I've tried upgrading Firefox. I've tried both Nightly and regular release Firefox. I've read every article on the Mozilla support website based on a search for this problem.
Please help. How do I recover all my passwords to a fresh profile?

Do you know the current (correct) master password?
If you know the MP then there shouldn't be a reason to change it. If you do not know the current MP then it is not possible to access the passwords stored in the Password Manager and you would have to start with fresh logins.json and key4.db files. You can keep a copy of the current logins.json and key4.db files in case you want to try in a separate profile.
If you do know the master password, but it isn't working for some reason then try to delete pkcs11.txt and secmode.db in the profile folder with Firefox closed.
Yes I know the master password.
