Change Text color in Thunderbird 78.5.1
Hi, I'm working on a MacBook Pro, (15-inch 2019), running Catalina v.10.15.7. It used to be easy to change the color of text in Thunderbird. Highlight the text, go to the color selector in the tool bar, click on the black (default), bring up color wheel, choose color, click okay and voila!- the text changes to red or blue or whatever. This is not working for me at all now. Right now I am able to choose a color in the wheel, and when I double-click, it shows in the color-selector window, but when I click okay, the text remains black. Any help for this? Thank you!

I think the trick is to close the OS X color picker before closing the TB color picker.

HI Thanks for your response but that doesn't work either. I see that this has been addressed for nearly a year now! https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1276138?page=1 I can't believe the developers haven't fixed this glitch when so many of us depend on color changes to text to help us in correspondence. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A RESPONSE HERE? ANYBODY WORKING ON THUNDERBIRD?
Did you perform the steps as shown in the video? I don't have a Mac to test.
I followed the suggestions in the previous threads. Nothing seems to activate the color change of the text. It looks selected, but then defaults to black. Looks like a problem in the program if so many others were complaining, too. It used to be a very easy and intuitive process.
