Suggestion: Optional Use of Single Filter Set for All Accounts
The use of a separate filter set for each Thunderbird account can be a major pain for some users. I have 32 email accounts (some of them disposable) in a number of domains for a large number of purposes. Sometimes several accounts need the same filter, so when I add a filter I add it to the dominant account, and then have to copy that filter set to the other 31 accounts. I suggest adding an option that would use the same filter set (the one for the dominant account makes the most sense) to be used for every account, eliminating the need to copy filters.

Great! Although I have edited and added preferences in Firefox for years this is my first time doing so for Thunderbird. I'll get back to you after I get it running.

That sounds like it is worth trying, but how does one add a string preference in Thunderbird 91 without the ability to access about:config?
Config.editor is at the bottom of the Preferences/General tab. Add a string as in the attached picture.

I have tested that solution and it works perfectly. I set up a new filter in the dominant account and it is working for the other accounts - thanks!
This solution worked fine for quite a while, but has now stopped working. I just joined two new mailing lists. I expanded the filters for the dominant account, but the filters for the two new lists are only being applied to the dominant account and not to the other accounts. Any suggestions?
