Compacting Files
I keep getting a pop-up box, when I log into Thunderbird, saying T'bird needs to compact my files and asking me to check a box allowing automatic compacting. I am super careful these days and before agreeing to this wanted to check that it is genuine and not some elaborate fishing scam. Thanks, Dave

I suggest going to Tools>Preferences>General>Disk Space and review the settings there. It should be showing you the disk it can save and you can compact manually there or set the tickbox to prompt you, which appears to be what you are seeing. It is not a phishing scam, but you may not want automatic compacting.
