Hi. From the Wayback machine. We have an older iMac (2011?) in the office running OS X 10.6.8. The version of Thunderbird is 45.8.0. This system used for Email in updating customers, has been used right up until this past week.

We have used GoDaddy for Email for years without any issues, until this week. Godaddy migrated all Email over to Outlook/365 on Monday. We cannot send a thing.

Contacting Godaddy's Migration department, we were given a new server (smtp.office365.com) for outgoing Email. It simply doesn't work.

Obviously, our entire system is outdated, and needs to be upgraded, but is there any way that we can use this system for now, because if is so important to get these Email message sent!

Would any other service/server be compatible with this antiquated system so that we can complete this project?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

The current authentication method for O365 and consumer hotmail, outlook.com etc. accounts is OAuth2, but that wasn't supported in TB until about v. 68. You might be able to circumvent this by creating an app password and using that in TB in place of the account password.

Consider getting a refurbished W10 PC for about $150 that will run the latest TB. Or, use webmail in the meantime.
