Apparently the "clear recent history on close" option was enabled on the 3.6.8 upgrade. Didn't see that coming.

I've undeleted yesterday's deleted files and saved them to a separate drive.

Can I copy or restore the "recovered" history file back into my profile folder?

If so, can you tell me the file name(s) that contains browsing history?

If you only need to recover your bookmarks, try following the directions in the 'Restoring bookmark backups' in Recover lost or missing Bookmarks

To recover your entire history, you'll need to get the Places.sqlite file from your old profile. See Recover important data from an old profile

If you updated from Firefox 2.0.0.20 then you need history.dat.
That file was used in Firefox 2. to store the history, Firefox 3 uses places.sqlite.
If you have used Firefox 3 versions in the past then may already have had a file places.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder and in that case you need to delete places.sqlite to make Firefox import the history from history.dat and the bookmarks from bookmarks.html.
