Cannot install Foxfire or Thunderbird without an unknown login and password.
When I download Foxfire or Thunderbird I get a dialog box that asks me to choose a pre-set login or to enter a login and password. If I chose the first option, nothing happens. If I enter a login and password, it says they are incorrect and throws me out of the installation.

Vern44,
FF and TB do not require any login or password to download or install. Did you obtain the programs from the Mozilla web site? If not, go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/] and download the programs from there.
