I downloaded the most recent version of FF i686 for my Suse Linux Version 9.2, did the tar xfj thing to unpack and install, tried the command line ~/firefox/firefox and it fails to load giving me the message that libpangocairo.1.0.so.0 is missing. Really disappointed in this. This tells me the installation media does not contain 'everything' required to make the product work. And when you look at the list for required libraries, it lists 4 of them. How many regular, everyday users know what GTK+ is? Or Glib, or X.Org? Much less where to obtain a library file.

You can look in YaST (Install Software) to see if there is a Pango package available for your distribution.

Already tried that. Nothing there. No mention of Pango in anything.
