I am using Firefox 3.6. I need to log on as an administrator. I don't ever remember creating an administrator account or password for Firefox. What can I do so that I can either find my current administrator password or create a new password and/or administrator account?

You are probably being asked to use a Windows XP admin account.

You need to log into your XP Operating Sytem as an admin level user. If you use Ctrl + Alt + Del twice from the logon screen you will be offered a choice of user account and password.

The 'Administrator' account itself is not normally seen when logging on. XP probably sets up the Administrator account with a null default password so enter the name 'Administrator' and then put the cursor in the password fields and hit the return key.

It is always a good idea to actually enter and use a password, it is also a good idea to create a password reset floppy.

If you have any account that already has administrator priveliges that may be uses to change passwords and account names.

If all else fails a clean reinstall of the OS will probably get you in as an administrator.
