I cannot clear the suggestions list from the opening page search box
As i type a search query into the opening page search box underneath i see a list of previous searches that start with the same letter. As time goes by this list is obviously becoming greater. I cannot see any obvious way of deleting the entries or clearing the stored entries from this memory.

If you want to remove saved data from a drop down list then use these steps:
- Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
- Highlight an entry in the drop down list
- Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Hi mekon,
You should take a look at these Knowledge Base articles:
- Use popular search suggestions in the Firefox Search bar
- Clear recent searches from the Search bar
- Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox
Hopefully this helps!
Hi Matt-G. Thanks for your reply to my problem. The search box i refer to is the large one in the centre of the opening page. It has the word SEARCH in a small box to the right side. As soon as i input any letter it shows up all the searches i have made starting with that letter. I just want to clear all the past records out as i am sharing my PC with A.N.Other. I did look at the sections you suggested but they all appear to mean the search box at the top of the page to the right of the address box. also they say just right click on the Firefox button at the top. Well i dont have any firefox buttons at the top and any of the firefox icons on the page dont do anything for me. PLEASE HELP. Why cant i get in direct contact with Firefox, where do they all hide when you need them' Regards mekon@glynegap.co.uk
