Firefox 15.01 and 16 beta crashes repeatedly
Firefox has been crashing repeatedly for the past week or so. Thought it was a problem with 15.01 and even updated to 16 beta, but just does not stop.
Tried "Reset firefox" , tries starting in safe mode. Nothing works. Here are some of the crash ids reported.

Sorry to see Firefox has gone crash happy on you. I've reviewed all your crash reports and linked this question to the relevant bugs. If more information is needed from you, developers might ask you for it here. In the mean time, may I suggest you try out Aurora or Nightly and see if things improve. Completely uninstall Firefox and Beta prior to trying Aurora or Nightly.
Ps. I personally use Nightly and haven't experienced major issues in a while but YMMV.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

You can also try to reset Firefox:
Thanks Alex and cor-el for your replies 1) I have tried completely re-installing FF (by removing all profiles) so creating a new profile will not make sense 2) I have tried using in safe mode several times But doing both 1&2, FF still crashes
One thing I did not try was disabling H/w acceleration. I have just disabled it and will use FF and let you know what happens.
Thanks again for all your help
Did this got resolved? If not, could you please test your computer for possible memory issues using Memtest86?
I'm getting exactly the same issues, and have tried all of the above. Before Version 15 FF hardly ever crashed. I have no memory issues or problems with any other browsers.
