Turned on my computer this morning to find that the text on my menus and toolbars had shrunk too small to read. I reset, but nothing changed...have tried everything, including googles the question...nothing helps. File, View, Edit etc are too small to read, the meta data at the top of the page is too small to read, text on tabs is too small.

But the text and resolution of the actual web page is fine, so zooming in and out doesnt help.

I have the same issue. I downloaded FF17, but had so many problems with auto fill-ins and passwords (Norton)that I removed FF17 and re-installed FF16. Now the auto fill-ins and passwords work fine, but the text for bookmarks and toolbars is so small it is difficult to read. How do I return these to their "normal" size??

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can also try to disable some settings in the Properties > Compatibility tab of the Firefox desktop shortcut.

  • disable visual themes
  • disable desktop composition
  • disable display scaling on high DPI settings
