disable auto plugin checker
We are in a corporate network. regular users do not have the authority to install anything. So having the pluggin checker is useless for them. Is there a way to disable this so it can only be done manually

Have you considered the ESR version of Firefox? http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/
