I am having trouble with Sync across 6 computers.

It is replicating bookmarks and bookmark folders over and over again, giving me thousands of copies of the bookmarks and hundreds of copies of the folders. The folders are copies of my original folders, but many have nothing in them, some are partial copies of the original folders, and a few are exact copies. This is across all 6 computer, but the numbers are different on each one.

To fix I did the following:

1. Disabled Sync across all computers. 2. Edited the bookmarks on one of the computer to the way I wanted it. 3. Created a backup bookmarks.html. 4. Deleted bookmarks on all machines so I was starting fresh. 5. Went to the Firefox Sync page, deleted my stored settings. 6 Turned on Sync for the computer I edited. 7. Went to each computer, turned on Sync.

The computers all downloaded the bookmarks, but a few minutes later, they started filling up with replications like they did prior to my fix. Again, hundreds of folders, thousands of bookmarks. These were all my bookmarks and folders, but just repeated over and over again.

So, tried a new tack.

1. I deleted my profile and created a new one with a new email address and account name. 2. Turned off sync across all computers and deleted my bookmarks. 3 Restored my bookmarks.html on one machine. 4. Turned Sync on for that computer. 5. Turned on Sync with the new account information on each machine.

Again, same result. It downloaded fine, then a few minutes the bookmarks folder started filling up with copies. I have no clue what to do at this point, other than I have disabled Sync across all computers, deleted the bookmarks, and restored a copy of my bookmarks.html on each one of them.

Was there a clean profile on the other 5 computers when you added the new account in the second tack?

Also, do you have an antivirus or another add on that may be syncing the bookmarks in another place?
