Firefox 30.0 Not Completely Clearing Cache

more options

I run the latest version of CCleaner before each time I put my computer to sleep or shut down and today after upgrading Firefox to 30.0 I noticed there are still files in the Firefox Cache that has not been deleted. I have my browser set to automatically clear my History. I have noticed this before in other versions of Firefox that I had upgraded to but went away when new fixes came out.

Chosen solution

That are likely images that you see in the Windows Jump list that show if you click Firefox on the Windows Task bar. You would have to disable the jump list if you do not want Firefox to generate these images.

What files are left in the Firefox cache that aren't removed?

Are those listed as well on the about:cache page?

If not then the cache index files might have become corrupted. Note that it isn't recommended to use external clean up software to avoid issues like this.

You can try to delete the cache folder on disk to see if that helps to recover from this.

Thanks for your reply cor-el. It appears that the files that are not being cleared in the cache are coming from

C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\yh0zduzs.default\jumpListCache\File Name==.ico

I have run the System File Checker tool and no corrupt files found and I have checked the drive for errors. I have attached a sample screenshot of the files left after I closed Firefox. Like I said this just started after I updated to 30.0 today.

Thank you
