With the latest version of Flash plugin, Firefox displays contradictory messages that say, 1) "This version of Flash is outdated and should be updated, and 2) on the plugin update screen, "Flash is up to date."

Additionally, my system has the latest QuickTime plugin installed, yet the Firefox plugin update screen says the plugin is outdated and vulnerable and should be updated," (which is impossible).

System: MacOS 10.6.8 (latest I can run for compatibility with other critical software).

Thoughts?

It is still possible to use older Plugins, just that they are set to Click to play.

How about Flash Player 13.0.0.259 for Mac ? https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

I am not looking to use old plugins.

By older I mean say 15.0.0.242 and older as 15.0.0.246 was the last for Flash 15 and is not affected according to Adobe.

Also the Plugin check page is behind and incorrectly thinks 15.0.0.239 is current for Firefox on Windows/Mac and page needs to be manually updated.

I appreciate your replies, yet I am not understanding how downgrading a plugin Firefox says must be updated will solve the issue?

I have the latest Flash player installed. That and/or Firefox is what is causing the problem. Firefox is blocking all Flash content since the plugin was updated.

Lets try again.

For Windows and Mac OX only 16.0.0.235 and 13.0.0.259 ESR and also 15.0.0.246 is not vulnerable and not on blocklist.

The 16.0.0.235 and 13.0.0.259 ESR can be found at https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Use the version you think is best for your OS and hardware.
