Thunderbird does not correctly save german letters ü,ä,ö,ß. After reloading a mail they are exchanged with useless ones.

If a mail is written and saved with german letter ü,ä,ö,ß then after reloading it sometimes the letters are completely useless (only the letters) and they need to be rewritten. This bug is present for years and endless versions before but now at a specific big amount of the database this gets really messy. I am thinking about going to outlook for professional results (some more bugs are now meanwhile really critical, but this is one of them). Any solutions?
