I am (suddenly) having trouble getting into Thunderbird. I have several email accounts, two of which are gmail accounts which belong to my kids. They have changed their passwords and I no longer know them. On starting Thunderbird, it opens a small window telling me that it cannot connect and asking me if I want to retry, change password, or cancel. Before I can klick anything, a second (identical) window pops up and blocks out the first one. If I try to click on it then it goes grey and I get the "spinning wheel of death" - followed by a mandatory ALT-F4.

If by some miracle I am fast enough to click on cancel in the first window before the second one appears, I CAN then get rid of the second window too - but then any attempt to reload mail, or delete the offending acccount is met with another spinning wheel of death. I even tried deleting the accounts via Explorer from the IMapMail directory. But they came back again.

Help!

Why not go to the gmail site and sort out your password issue?

Why not go to the gmail site and sort out your password issue?

Because, even if I could get into Thunderbird to answer a reset mail from gmail (or go via my mobile) I cannot change the password(s) that Thunderbird is trying to use to access the account(s)...
