Under Win 10 Pro, updated to v40.0; "Minimize, FullScreen & Exit" buttons don't work; re-download & re-install didn't fix; downgrading to v39.0.3 fixed it???

Running Windows 10 Pro. Updated Firefox to v40.0. In Upper right corner, the Minimize, Full-Screen and Exit buttons did not work and hovering over any of them failed to highlight the button. I re-downloaded the update and re-installed, but problem still existed. As a test, I tried downgrading to v39.0.3, which fixed the problem. I realize that the downgrade may pose a security risk, but it works, and v40.0 doesn't! Prior to downgrading, I tried the Customize option, de-selecting and re-selecting the top menu bar, but neither helped. What next?

Further troubleshooting: I opened Firefox v40.0 in safe mode, and problem no longer occurred. Then re-started, opening Firefox v40.0, using "Refresh" option, and problem no longer occurred. After re-adding desired Plug-Ins and Extensions (eliminating some older and/or rarely used items), I re-started Firefox, and problem no longer occurs. The problem was evidently caused by one of the eliminated extensions or plug-ins. No further help needed.
