Hi

Unless you set Mozy to pick up your Firefox profile (that stores details of bookmarks, add-ons and saved password (and other things)) I am not sure what we can do to help you recover it.

If you do have a copy of your profile, you can recover the bookmarks from it. There is a guide as to how to do this here.

I hope this helps, but if not please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you

Is there only one Firefox profile folder in the default location used for profiles?

"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.

Do have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop?

When you refresh/reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported. The current profile folder will be moved to an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop. Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.

It is possible to recover data from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

If I go to browser favorites in mozy it shows a bunch of the urls I had saved but I have no clue how to get them into firefox. I just don't know where my bookmarks folder went.

For the bookmarks you can use the places.sqlite and possibly the bookmarkbackups with the compressed .jsonlz4 that Firefox creates automatically.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item-count>_<hash>.jsonlz4

Then what do you do with the places folder that downloads?

You can copy the file to the current Firefox profile folder to replace the current places.sqlite file.

You need to remove places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal files if they are present in the profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

This doesn't seem to fix my problem. I really need my bookmarks.
