Did you check the bookmarkbackups folder for JSON backups?

You can either use the places.sqlite file or restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

The Firefox profile folder is located here: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.
Hi there Thanks for the help! I tried everything that you suggested but I cannot manage to find the bookmarksbackup folder within my time machine backup. Does that make sense? I dont see a Firefox file, there is a Mozilla file but inside there I find an Extensions file and that finally gets me to a Chrome file that doesn't hep me at all. This seems like it would be a common issue?! Do Firefox bookmarks backup through Time Machine? Is that the right question?
Thanks again!!

Can you find the profile folder and the other folders on your main hard drive?
Did you make sure that you can access hidden folders?
Hi cor-el
No I have not been able to access my hidden folders on my external hard drive. I was able to do it on my computers hard drive. But that only contained the backup for the last couple of weeks since I got my computer back from apple. They erased all files and reinstalled my operating system. Could you answer my question?.. Are my Firefox bookmarks automatically backed up through time machine? Will I be able to recover my bookmarks?
Thanks again,
sm
The only way to be sure if the bookmarkbackups is included is checking that yourself. I don't know how the time Machine works and whether it includes personal data or that specific location or files are excluded.
Hi cor-el
Is there anyone else that I can chat with that does know Time Machine? This seems like it would be a common issue... Thanks

Best would be to ask about this at a Mac oriented forum. Official | Apple Support Communities:
