E Mails in Inbox keep disappearing

I just got a new Windows 10 Computer and installed Thunderbird two weeks ago. I finally got it to receive e mails, but after one or two days they're gone. I can't find them in the trash folder. I can't find an option to keep e mails in the tools - account settings unlike the version on my Windows 7 computer. Any ideas will be useful.

This if for a different version of Thunderbird. Min is 38,5.0

it is for every version of Thunderbird since it was first released 10 years ago.

But in your case it is probably that your have set up your account an IMAP and your mail provider auto ages mail and either moves it to an non subscribed folder or deletes it after 2 days. I suggest you ask them what their retention policy is.
