THUNDERBIRD does not download all messges from gmail together, it download in batches of 15/16/17/20 on its own. i have to press check new messages again and again

There are two causes of this.

1. Exceeding the bandwidth allocated by Google to you on a daily basic. 2. Anti virus program fussing and fiddling while the connection times out.
