Downloads not going to designated download folder
Hello, I am on a new computer windows 10 pro with a fresh install of Firefox. While I have about a dozen add-ons I have disabled them all to make certain it was not an add-on causing the issue.
I desire to have all downloads save to my "D" drive (D:\Downloads) I have it set in Firefox options/General/Download location however whenever I download from a new location it defaults back to c:\users\%user%\Downloads Regardless to what I have set in the options of Firefox. I even went so far as to go into "windows settings/system/storage/Save Locations" to no avail. Any Suggestions?
(stats: Windows 10 Pro 64, New Machine, Firefox Version 45.01
TIA

Try to disable the feature to remember a host based download directory by creating a new Boolean pref on the about:config page with the name browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref and set its value to false.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Every once in an update, I find that the pref gets switched from boolean to string, which deactivates it. When set back to a boolean, the feature works again.
Are you sure of the name of the pref?
- browser.download.lastDir is a String pref
- browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite in a Boolean pref
browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite doesn't exist by default and will only show on the about:config page when you have created it yourself.
I'm certain it's .savePerSite. For whatever reason, the type gets switched.
