Is there a mechanism to block sound from Firefox, so I can listen to music while browsing

more options

I'm using Firefox 45.0.1 and OS X 10.9.5. I want to be able to listen to music while browsing, so I need to be able to block sound from Firefox. Is there a way to do that?
