How to recover emails that I accidently deleted?
My ISP's webmail program has a "purge" button next to the trash folder. I need to keep all my emails but I accidently hit the 'purge' word. Since I'm using an IMAP server, it deleted all the emails off all my devices. :-(
I'm trying to follow this thread on recovering the emails:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1113283
When I get to this step:
"Place Thunderbird in offline mode. File menu > Offline use the entry the add-on placed in the right click context menu to undelete messages",
TB recovers only 2 emails. I know I had hundreds, if not thousands of emails in that folder. Is there any hope of recovering them?

It is an automatic function, so itf it has or has not happened is really the luck of the draw. The more mail that is deleted and the long that passed after the event the more likely an auto compact is to occur.

As I said in that Thread, all bets are off. If a folder has been compacted, then the mail is gone with no way to recover.
I haven't compacted the folders since this happened.

Wow, I didn't know that. I usually get a pop-up asking me whether i want to compact the folders. I didn't realize it did it automatically even if I tell it not to! That's confusing.....
