Options, never update activated, can't activate Automatic or Manual

I just installed Firefox on a new computer today. When I went through options, on the update area the "Never update" radio button is highlighted and the rest is grayed out. How do I activate the "Automatically install" or "Check for updates"? Thanks in advance for any and all help!
