Noscript error when signing into Google
After setting up my Gmail account, a window opens with the old (v1) sign-in for Google. After I enter my email and password, neither of which it rejects, I am directed to https://accounts.google.com/o/noscript which says:
You've reached this page because we have detected that Javascript is disabled in your browser. The page you attempted to load cannot display properly if scripts are disabled.
Please enable scripts and retry the operation or go back in your browser.
I understand that Javascript is disabled in Thunderbird for security reasons, and I'm glad it is. But I it seems I can't login without it? I can't find this error anywhere else on the internet.

By the way, I'm using Thunderbird 52.4.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 16.04.
